2021 Legislative Bills Impacting LASERS
The 2021 Regular Session of the Louisiana Legislature convenes April 12 and ends June 10.
The following retirement bills were filed which would impact LASERS if passed.
The LASERS Board took official positions on the legislation at its March meeting.
|SB 22 – Peacock||Position Taken: Oppose
|Systems Impacted: LASERS, TRSL & LSERS
Provides relative to retirement eligibility for certain new members of LASERS, TRSL, and LSERS, including increasing the retirement age to 67 or age of retirement set by Social Security.
|SB 24 – Price||Position Taken: Support
|Systems Impacted: LASERS, TRSL, LSERS & STATE POLICE
Provides relative to a minimum cost-of-living increase for certain retirees and beneficiaries.
|HB 19 – Mack||Position Taken: No Position
|Systems Impacted: LASERS
Provides relative to the selection of certain optional survivor benefits for members of the Louisiana State Employees’ Retirement System.
