Active Member FAQs
What do I do when I want to retire?
You must contact your agency Human Resource Department to begin the actual retirement process. We strongly recommend that you obtain an estimate from this office 18 months prior to your anticipated retirement date. The estimate can be requested by mail or you may schedule an appointment with a Customer Service Representative to obtain the estimate.

How do I get a copy of my last annual statement?
You may view and print any prior annual statement beginning with the 2008 year on the Member Self-Service section of our website or you may write to our office and request a duplicate be mailed to you.
What does it mean to be vested?

Can I put extra money in the retirement system?

Can I borrow money from my LASERS account?
No.
When are pre-retirement seminars?
We offer a Pre-Retirement Education Program (PREP) which covers a variety of topics helpful to those who are members of LASERS. Attending a PREP is a great retirement planning tool. It is recommend that you take one at various stages of your career. See the schedule and register here.
