March Benefit Payment Falls on a Sunday

February 24, 2026

Since March 1 falls on a Sunday, the timing of your benefit payment may vary depending on whether you receive a direct deposit or paper check, and on your financial institution’s processing policies for weekends and holidays.

Direct Deposits

Direct deposits are guaranteed to be sent to your financial institution on the first of each month. However, when the first falls on a weekend or holiday, availability of funds may be delayed until the next business day. In these cases, please contact your financial institution directly for information on when your funds will be made available to you. That decision is made by your financial institution, not LASERS.

If your deposit has not posted by the first business day of the month, please contact LASERS at 225.922.0600 (local) or 800.256.3000 (toll-free).

Paper Checks

Paper checks are mailed with the intent to arrive on the first of each month. However, delivery may be delayed by postal service issues, inclement weather, or holidays.

If you have not received your monthly benefit check by the fifth business day of the month, you should take the following steps:

  • Notify LASERS in writing that you wish to have the check reissued. The written notification must include your name, Social Security number, and signature.
  • Consider switching to direct deposit to avoid future delays. You can enroll by submitting Form 04-05: Authorization for Direct Deposit electronically through your myLASERS account.
